I have PSE 2014 on my older PC and MacAir. Anybody want a free PSE 2022 for a Mac? Not for me no thanks. They are not supported in any way for use on macOS Monterey.“Īmazon review on PSE 2022 MacOS disc. ![]() No, legacy/perpetual versions of Photoshop were not designed or tested to work on macOS 12.0 (Monterey). If you do encounter issues not already documented here, feel free to report them to our support community.Īre legacy/perpetual versions of Photoshop, compatible with macOS Monterey? Adobe strongly recommends that customers do their own testing on a non-production partition to ensure that new operating systems work with their current hardware and drivers (printing, and so forth). You can choose to remain on your current version of macOS until these issues have been resolved. Photoshop 22.x and earlier have not been tested for compatibility with macOS Monterey (version 12) Photoshop 23.x is compatible with macOS Monterey (version 12) with these known issues The compatibility of Photoshop with macOS Monterey can be summarized as below: “ Which Photoshop versions are compatible with macOS Monterey? I’m not sure I’m really answering your question but maybe it’ll help. I did all this a couple months ago and it seems to have worked. The Adobe link assumes that you want to ultimately get CC back on your computer, so read the first link first which IMHO gives a better overview of what needs to be done to really get rid of it. I used a combination of methods in the following links to finally get rid of it. I tried dragging it to the trash and that didn’t help there were still a multitude of Adobe folders and files scattered all over the place. ![]() I was finally able to trace it to Creative Cloud trying to update. ![]() I could ‘cancel’ but around the first of every month the computer would turn into an unusable piece of junk, requiring multiple reboots some of which took 20 minutes to get it back on track. It seemed innocuous enough at first but then it started showing popup windows requesting updates. That’s when Creative Cloud showed up in the upper right near the wifi, time and date, etc. But what I do know is that the main user installed either Photoshop Elements or Photoshop either as a trial or for purchase. I just maintain it with security, browser, and other software updates. I am by no means promoting Adobe, I had to switch to Photoshop Elements because my Photoshop 6 version will not run on anything higher macOS 10.14 Mojave and I will not buckle to Adobe's blackmail to pay a monthly fee to run their software (as a hobby).I don’t usually use the iMAC I referred to. Please let me know if anyone has the same experience. I then proceeded to do some photo editing and printing to test the software and have consequently been running Photoshop Elements 2021 on Monterey ever since. The first time I booted my Mac from the external SSD harddrive to run the Monterey OS, Elements 2021 immediately opened without my prompting and welcomed me to the introductory tour. After hearing about problems with Elements 2021 running in Monterey, I did not update my Computer (Mac Mini M1) to Monterey until this February when I mounted Monterey on an external Harddrive (500 GB SSD) and therefore can run both Operating Systems. I am using Photoshop Elements 2021 on the BigSur Platform and have no problems. I am confused, questions are wether Photoshop Elements 2021 is working in Monterey and answers are given referring to Elements 2022! I get all sorts of bells and whistles with it. I pay $10.84 a month for the cheapest plan for Photoshop. Many didn't bother downloading a trial version to see if it would work- they just bought it. A big problem has been Apple killing off 32 bit software, and users of Photoshop Elements not reading the OS requirements before they made their purchase- yet they still want to blame Adobe after making a purchase that wasn't even stated to work on their OS (Monterey). Seems reasonable to me to only provide software updates, fuctionality updates, for 1 year from the time of purchase. Now- you just download whatever b rowser you want for free. It's like when Netscape nasvigator came out- 6 floppies and $60. From a business standpoint, it doesn't seem to make any sense to provide software on hard media (such as a DVD) any more. I don't think they "want everyone to go subscription"- everyone will, even with Photoshop Elements (which I predict will go subscription based in two years).
